Lucille Marie Lakip

Lucille Marie Lakip 98 of LaPlata, MD passed away on Sunday April 14, 2024 at her home.

Lucille was born on September 10, 1925 in Charles County, MD to the late Joseph and Myrtle Simmons. She is also predeceased first husband, Richard Bennet and her second husband, Romulo Lakip; sons, Linwood Bennett, Ronald Bennett and Timothy Bennett; brothers, Harry Simmons, James Simmons, Lemuel Simmons, Paul Simmons, Wilson Simmons, Leo Simmons and Joseph Simmons; sisters, Eleanor Willett, Mary Rodriguez, Doris Simmons, Audrey Pipes, Mary Alice Vernon and Marion Simmons.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Susan Simpson (James); sister, Shirley Hamilton, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Lucille loved dancing, sewing, working in her flower garden and cooking. She also enjoyed going to St. Elizabeth Church in Colonial Beach, Va.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Church (201 St, Mary’s Ave, LaPlata, MD 20646) from 9 AM until her Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment to follow in the St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery (4950 St. Joseph’s Way Pomfret, MD 20675).
