Ewell Douglas Powell, Jr.

Ewell Douglas Powell, Jr., 68, of Indian Head, MD passed away on May 8, 2019 at Bridgepoint Hospital, Washington, DC.

Born in San Antonio, TX on January 6, 1951 to the late Ewell D. Powell, Sr. and Doris Mae Speed Powell, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Samanthia J. Hilton.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of 33 years; daughters, Nancy Compton and Cynthia S. Coulter; sons, Charles A. Haber and Leo D. Haber; uncle, Paul L. Bush; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Ewell was employed by Sears as a salesman.  He enjoyed socializing with friends and going on adventures with his wife, Sharon, who he fondly referred to as “Rascal”.  He was his best self, happy and content when surrounded by his family, all of whom will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the Memorial Service at 10:30AM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Church of Latter Day Saints (4560 Padgett Dr., White Plains, MD).  Interment will be private.  Online condolences to the family can be shared at arehartechols.com.
