Carole Hall Humphrey, 74, of LaPlata, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Carole was born on August 26, 1948 in Staten Island, NY to Anthony and Kathryn Hall. Carole attended Douglas College, where she received her BS. She went on to earn her MBA from Rutgers University in 1980. Carole had a successful and fulfilling career as a Financial Manager for AT&T. She retired in 1998 and went on to own and operate St. Anthony’s Day School with her step-mother, Patricia Hall Choiniere.
Carole was married to her loving husband, Michael Humphrey, for 42 years. Carole and Michael’s families were stationed together in Germany when the pair were toddlers. In 1974, Carole was reunited with Michael by their mothers, and in 1981, they married. Carole and Michael have one daughter, Kathryn; son-in-law, Kyle; and two grandchildren, Michael and William.
Carole is survived by her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren; as well as her step-mother; sister, Heather Hall; her brother, Patrick Hall; her sister-in-law, Flavia, and their children and grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Timothy Hall.
Carole was ambitious, strong-willed, and generous. She was a true extrovert who loved talking with everyone she met. She was a devout Catholic and dedicated to her church. Before she became ill, Carole could often be found volunteering her time, either with the church, the Girl Scouts, or abused and neglected children. Carole loved trying new restaurants, going to museums, and attending the theater. Carole always had a new hobby, whether it was cross-stitch, knitting, or simply making the best Cosmo. She was an attentive and loving mother, a dedicated wife, and a lot of fun. She will be missed.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church (201 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646) at 10AM. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
