Catherine Quinn, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away on April 17, 2025.
Catherine was born in Indian Head, MD on July 17, 1932, to the late Peter and Mary Alice Schroeder. She is predeceased by her husband, Michael Quinn, as well as her two half-sisters, Anne Reese and Helen Rhodes, and her half-brother, John Sprague.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Catherine Moreland, and son, Peter Moreland, as well as three grandchildren, Phillip Moreland, Emily Shaver, and Lily Reyes. She had several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two nieces, Alicia Rhodes Heaney and Joan Reese Sine.
After several decades as a real estate professional, and prior to her retirement, Catherine developed land in Charles County into residential communities. She was appointed by the Governor to serve on the MD Foster Care Revue Board, and did so for many years. She was also active in several political organizations and women's groups.
After retiring to Florida a number of years ago, she belonged to St. Joseph's and St. Luke's Catholic Churches, and was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council #7408, in Palm Bay, FL.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Benedict, MD. Interment followed at St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cemetery, Port Tobacco, MD.
