Dale Overstreet

Dale L. Overstreet 71, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away on Friday December 3, 2021 in Washington, DC.

Dale was born on November 8, 1950 in Washington, DC to the late William and Dorothy Overstreet. He is also predeceased by his son, Justin Lee Overstreet and his brother, Mark Overstreet.

Dale is survived by his wife, Susie Rice; daughter, Rebecca Rice Overstreet Holt; granddaughter, Mackenzie Lynn Holt; brother, Glen Overstreet and his sister, Ann McDonald.

Dale retired from the Charles County Sheriff’s office as a Master Sergeant. He was also one of the founding members of their Swat Team. Some of his proudest moments were being a member of the Emergency Services Team from 1980 to 2007 being the longest member on the team. Dale was Santa Clause for many years in the community, he was a gentle giant. His granddaughter describes him as being “so kind and he makes funny faces” and will always remember how he rolls his eyes.

The family will receive friends at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Hone (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646) on Friday December 10, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM. His interment will be at a later date.
