Gregory, Sr. Douglas
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of life of Douglas Gregory Sr. “Doug” was 71 years old and passed away on June 20, 2024 of cancer (AML leukemia) in his home of Swan Point, Maryland. Douglas Gregory was a devoted husband, loving father, and the best “Pop”.
Doug is survived by his wife Marilyn and 5 children: Shawn (Stephine) Gregory, Jamie (Drew) Daar, Michelle (Steve) Bello, John “Jack” (Liz) Edwards, and Douglas (Melanie)
Gregory II. Pops was a caring grandfather to Joey, Colleen, Shawn, Gavin, Dean, Liliana, Landon, Oaklynn, Steven Jr., Jake and Delaney.
Born on October 17, 1952, at Providence hospital in Washington D.C. Douglas was the second child to Patricia and Edward Matthew Gregory. He spent his childhood in Lanham,
Maryland with his siblings: Donna, Don and Dale Gregory. Doug worked for the PG Board of Education for 33 years as a dedicated Electrician/Heat A/C Mechanic. He loved the outdoors: crabbing, fishing, cooking on his grill and had a passion
for gardening.
The family will receive friends on Monday July 1, 2024 from 5 to 7pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646). Prayer service will be at 6:30PM. Interment will be at a later date at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
