Edgar Thomas Aleshire

Edgar Thomas Aleshire, 85, of Port Tobacco, MD passed away on March 11, 2020 at SagePoint Senior Living Services in LaPlata, MD.

Born in Virginia on December 6, 1934 to Louise H. Aleshire, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Aleshire and numerous brothers and sisters.  Edgar is survived by his daughters, Belita Ramakrishna, Wendy Fuchs, Lorie Aleshire and Patricia Boling; lifelong friend, Tootie Hill; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Edgar was employed as a crane operator for Local 77B.  Throughout life he had a wide variety of interests that he delved into with great zeal.  Playing guitar, working on cars and watching NASCAR were passions from which he never wavered.  He enjoyed crabs and beer with his family.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 2PM to 4PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA (211 St. Mary’s Ave., LaPlata, MD); where a Funeral Service will also be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 11AM; Interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Rd., Waldorf, MD).  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edgar’s memory to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).  Online condolences to the family can be shared at arehartechols.com.
