Edward Mckee Obituary

Edward Forestall McKee Jr., 75, husband of LaDonna, the son of Mary Jane and Edward F. McKee Sr. and brother to Lorraine Gerhard, passed away on May 31, 2021.  Ed was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, and continued to raise his children there until he moved to Danbury, CT, with his wife, Donna, in 1994.  They  moved to Waldorf, Maryland in 2020.

Ed was very patriotic and served in the Air National Guard and Army National Guard for a total of 22 years of service (Aug 1965 – July 1994).  While in the reserves, he also worked at the Bethlehem Steel Plant for 19 years.  Additionally, he received an Associate’s degree from Hilbert College in Business, which he utilized to perform appraisals in Buffalo, NY, and continued when he moved to Danbury, CT.

Ed always had a passion for sports.  As a young man he played tennis and softball and received All State Honors in Tennis.  He was very involved in his children’s sports activities as he coached football and baseball.  Cheering for New York teams kept him extremely entertained.  You could usually find him wearing New York Yankees or Buffalo Bills gear.

Ed was an extremely compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He spent many hours travelling to visit their friends and family. It was frustrating to him when he couldn’t take the long trips anymore.  He always had a smile and a friendly disposition whether you just met him or had known him for years.  He will be extremely missed.

Ed is survived by his wife, Donna, of 55 years (married in June 1966), their four children, Scott, Todd, Randy, Chad, and their five grandchildren Brianna, Derek, Madelyn, Zachary, and Joshua.

The family is receiving friends to celebrate his life, Sunday June 6th at 1:00pm at Foster’s Grille in La Plata, MD.  In lieu of flowers, Ed would appreciate contributions to Folds of Honor, https://www.foldsofhonor.org.
