Ernest Kalinowsky Obituary

Ernest W. Kalinowsky, 83, passed away on January 13, 2020 in Washington, DC.

Ernie was born on December 29, 1936 in Brackenridge, PA to the late Ernest F. and Philamina Kalinowsky. He is also predeceased by his first wife, Mary and his sisters, Mina and Roxann.

He is survived by his second wife, Lydia; daughters, Vicki and Julie Ann; son, Ernest John; and brother, Louis; grandchildren, Clinton, Aaron, Kyle and Erica; great-grandchildren, Riley, Charles, Raegan and Colby.

He was a computer analyst at Andrews Air Force base and served many years in the Marine Corp. and Air National Guard. Ernie is also a life member of the Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services. Ernie joined the operational side of the department in 2006, achieved his EVOC certification in 2008, and First Responder Certification in 2009. He joined the Auxiliary around 2008 to further support the department from both sides. He was a very active member in support of their mission throughout the years.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 1PM until Service time at 2PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (1200 Charles St. LaPlata, MD). Interment will be a later date at The Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department & EMS (P.O. Box 156, Cobb Island, MD 20625).
