Evelyn Anne Hedrick

Evelyn Anne “Nancy” Hedrick 92, of Brandywine, MD passed away on Monday November 20, 2023 in LaPlata, MD.

Nancy was born on November 15, 1931 in Westwood, MD to the late John and Lucile Summers. She is also predeceased by her husband, William Hedrick; brothers, John Summers, Jr., Edwin Summers, Larry Summers and Samuel Summers; sister, Marie Summers and her granddaughter, Lindsey Hedrick.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith; sons William Hedrick, Robert Hedrick, Richard Hedrick and Michael Hedrick; grandchildren, Richie Smith, Jennifer Hedrick and Nathan Hedrick; great grandchildren, Emma Garner, Lily Hedrick, Lila Hedrick, Lexi Hedrick, Bradley Smith and Brooke Smith.

Nancy retired from the Prince George’s County School Board. She loved her grandchildren, spending time with the dog’s, riding the Gator, baking and canning everything in sight, Country music, especially Elvis and puzzle books. She was a lifelong member of St. Michaels Church and spent a lot of time volunteering for many functions at the church. She also worked in the gift shop at the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House for many years.

The family will receive friends on Thursday November 30, 2023 from 10 until Mass time at 11 AM at the St. Michaels Church Baden (17510 Horsehead Rd. Brandywine, MD 20613). Interment will be at a later date at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery (Cheltenham, MD). A repass will follow the funeral mass in the church hall at St. Michael’s.
