Francis "Pete" J. Whelan

Francis “Pete” J. Whelan, 89, passed away on January 17, 2022. Pete was born in Washington, DC on April 13, 1932.

Pete is survived by his wife, Joan of 62 years; his brother; children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many other family members. The family will receive friends on Saturday January 29th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary’s Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 with a brief prayer service at 3:00 pm.

Pete will be laid to rest at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on a future date.
