Jane Kenyon Obituary

Jane Marie Kenyon November 14,1950 - January 24,2025

Jane Marie Kenyon 74 of Dameron, Md. passed away on January 24,2025 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Jane was born on November 14,1950 in LondonDerry Northern Ireland. She was 1 of 13 children to the late Rose and Robert Canning.

At age 15 1/2 Jane left Derry to help her mother's sister take care of her Mother-in-law in London, England for a year.

Little did she know that taking care of people would become a big part in her life. Upon returning home from England she started working in a shirt factory until she met a yank that was in the US Navy named Edward Kenyon. Who was stationed at NRTF Londonderry. Edward would become her husband in 1969 and they welcomed a child (EJ) into their family a year later.

In 1970, Jane moved to the United States, when her husband received his orders to be stationed at Pax River in which they made their home in Lexington Park, MD. Even leaving Ireland Jane always kept the Irish heritage close to her heart.

Jane had many jobs that ranged from cleaning offices, waitressing, retail and managing the office at RED Inc. from which she retired.

Later in life Jane found her calling of taking care of people. This would include working in nursing homes, providing home care, serving as a medic at the jail and much more. She also volunteered at Lexington Park Rescue Squad in which she received many certificates and recognitions. She loved it so much she became a lifetime member. This is where she made a lot of good friends, who remain so today.

Jane's story became one of growth, love, and resilience, and reflected her determination to carve her own path in a world filled with possibilities.

Jane loved being around her son and his family, her family in Ireland, and friends far and near.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents Rose and Robert, Sisters Bridie and Mary, and Brothers Paddy and Robert.

Jane leaves behind a Son Edward Kenyon Jr. daughter in law Stephanie, Grandchildren Sean, Brett, Ryan, Bradleigh and Alex, Great Grandson Skye, Brothers Sammie, Daniel, Martin and Paul, Sisters Roseleen, Suzie, Angela and Ann, and numerous friends, who were like family.

Jane's vibrant spirit, generosity and warmth will be missed.
