Joann Worden

Joann Worden 79 of LaPlata, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 3, 2023.

Joann was born on March 2, 1944, in Baltimore, MD to the late James and Josephine Hoy.

She is survived by her sons, Scot Worden, and Billy (Taylor) Worden. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Tucker, and Clark Worden.

Joann, known by many as Ms. Jo, Mama Worden, Mama, and Ms. Joann, loved her children, grandchildren and extended family.  She also loved volunteering in her community.

Joann worked for the US Postal service as a Rural Mail Carrier.  Prior to that, she was a Team Mom, Den Mom, Assistant Coach, and volunteer at every school her boys attended.  And she relished every moment.

A celebration of life will be held on November 18, 2023, at Knelling Point Chapel / New Life Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, LaPlata.  Visitation 9:00 A.M – 10:00 A.M.  The service will begin at 10:00 A.M.
