John Paul Coghlan

John Paul Coghlan, 80, of Nanjemoy MD passed away on 6/12/20 surrounded by his family at his home in Nanjemoy.

Born in April 1940 in Staten Island, NY to Amy Coghlan and Charles Coghlan. John was a husband to Doreen Coghlan, a graduate of USC, and he led a life of public service with Veterans Affairs and Architect of the Capitol.

He was a devoted family man and always made sure that his wife, children, grand-children and great-grandchild had everything they needed.

John was a handyman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking care of his home. From cutting down trees to pressure washing the roof until his 80th birthday, he never let age stop him from doing what he enjoyed.

He is survived by his wife Doreen, his daughter Rene, his sister Margaret Nickel, four grandchildren Ryan, Cameron, Austin, and Connor and great grand-child Cayden. He also has extended family in NY, FL, England, Scotland and Australia.

Services will be held on Monday June 22nd from 10am -12pm at New Life Church in LaPlata. Visitation will be from 10-11am with burial and services from 11-12pm.
