Joseph Temprey Baker, Jr, 66, Charlotte Hall, MD.

Joseph Temprey Baker, Jr, 66 of Charlotte Hall, MD passed peacefully on October 7, 2022, when he went home to be with his Lord and savior.  Joseph was born on June 27, 1956, to the late Joseph (Buck) Temprey Baker, Sr. and Dorothy Eleanor (Dade) Baker.

Joseph affectionally known as Junior was born in Newport, MD. Joseph was educated in Charles County Public School System and graduated from LaPlata High School in 1974. He was employed by Calvert County Board of Education, McCrea HVAC Company, and Colony Tools.  Junior was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Newport, MD.

Junior loved being around family and friends. His favorite football team was Minnesota Vikings. His favorite TV shows were Judge Judy and Cash Cab. Junior loved listening to Chuck Brown GoGo and oldies but goodies music. He officiated local baseball and basketball games. He also loved playing poker, going to the casinos, and cooking for family dinners.

He leaves to mourn his three daughters, Cheyna Jones, Sarah (Danny) Simmons and Renetta Baker. Seven grandchildren: Destiny Brown, Karl Brown, Charnay Baker, Hannah Jones, Sky Simmons, Danny Simmons Jr., and Saimya Baker.

Junior also leaves to cherish his memories his siblings Gregory (Anne), Lana, Annette (Michael) Parks, Joyce, Marvin (Diana), Deborah Thornhill, Anthony, Carla, and Craig.

Junior leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives, special cousins Eric and Rhonda Bullock, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sisters Jacqueline (Jack) and Shirley and his brother Larry.

The family will receive friends on Friday October 21, 2022 from 9 AM until Mass time at 11 AM at the St. Mary’s Newport Church.

Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
