Judith L. Boyden, 79 of LaPlata, Maryland passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Judy was born on October 20, 1941 in Natick, Massachusetts to the late John and Leona Conlon.
Judy is survived by her husband, Cliff Boyden; her sons, Dave Boyden (Bridget), Bill Boyden (Tracy), Mike Boyden (Nadia) and Mark Boyden (Patsy); her daughters, Terry Boyden and Donna Gail Clark; her brother, Jack Conlon; her sisters, Jean Ferrante, Janice Cuellar and Joyce Riggs, along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was a Cecchetti trained ballet performer and instructor, who shared her love of dance from ballet to ballroom with thousands of students of all ages at her own Judy’s Dance Studio in LaPlata, Maryland which she started in 1986. A quote from one of her students reveals just how much she meant to us: “I will forever be grateful to Miss Judy and the time and dedication she put into all of us. There will never be another like her. Forever in your dancers’ hearts you will remain until we are all dancing together again. You will be missed”.
A talented artist in many ways, she painted, created holiday crafts and designed beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry.
Judy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. Visits to her home included homemade biscuits, brownies or cookies, a walk around her beloved flower gardens and always a warm hug. Her grandkids were everything to her; she rarely missed a sporting event or school award ceremony. The love she showed to each and every family member was unconditional. She was a role-model to so many and will be missed every day. Heaven has truly gained an angel.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646).
Judy’s Funeral Service and Interment will be private.
