Judith Ann “Sweet Pea” Heiston 83 of King George, VA passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at UVA hospital. Born on September 30, 1941 in Washington DC to the late Enoch Zell and Marian Zell. She is also predeceased by her husband, Gene Heiston; daughter, Jennifer Heiston; brothers, Danny Zell, Robert Zell and James Zell; sister, Carolyn Zell. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Mowbray(Greg); son, Rick Heiston(Laura). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Judy was a wonderful mother who loved having big family gatherings that included her awesome home-cooked dinners and homemade milkshakes. Her made from scratch sugar cookies with her special icing at Christmas time will never be forgotten. She enjoyed saying her prayers every night, old country music, bingo, watching game shows and playing poker. She loved her dog Babycakes who stayed by her side.

Jude, as our Dad would call her, came and took his sweetheart home to be with the Lord. Married 53 yrs. to the love of her life before our father passed in 2012. Mom, your wait and suffering are now over. You were the best mother and words cannot express how sorely missed you will be.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home in LaPlata, MD. Followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pomfret, Md. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
