Karl P. Lehman

LEHMAN, Karl Philip, age 45, of La Plata, Maryland entered into rest on Sunday, January 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Karl was born in Washington DC on February 21, 1976 to Patricia and Karl Lehman.  He was a graduate of Henry E. Lackey High School.  As a child, Karl grew up in Indian Head, Maryland and spent much of his time in Bryans Road, Maryland where his grandparents owned Kabin on a Korner.  Karl excelled in sports, eventually playing soccer at Charles County Community College (currently CSM).  As an accomplished guitarist, his love of music took him to San Diego, California where he played in a band for a short time. Karl enjoyed live music and often frequented music venues in the Washington, DC area. Karl was a sports fanatic. He followed the Redskins, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards, DC United and the San Diego Chargers and Padres. He also followed sports programs at the University of Maryland and San Diego State. Karl will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Karl is preceded in death by his grandparents, Agnes and Harry (Bubba) Lehman of Bryans Road and Barbara and Tim Hanna and his uncles Stephen Lehman and Timothy Hanna, and aunt Patricia Kragh.  He is survived by his parents, Patricia Hanna Lehman and Karl Michael Lehman; his son Mason, his sister Kristin Renee Lehman Atwell (James); his brothers Matthew Weathersby and Mathew Lehman; and his niece and nephew, Julia and Brent Atwell.  He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Gail Hanna DeBlanc (Alvin), Harry Lehman, II (Janie), Debra Prohaska (David), Donna DiMichele (John), Elizabeth Lehman, John Lehman (Lisa), and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday February 9, 2022 from 10 AM until Service time at 12 Noon at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646). Interment will be private.
