Kathleen Morris

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Kathleen Foy Morris (Kathy), 70, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Born on February 23, 1955, in Flushing, New York, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Louise (Pafundi) Foy.

Kathy dedicated 36 years to education and retired from the Charles County Board of Education as a Vice Principal in 2012. After retirement, she embraced life as a snowbird, splitting her time between Maryland and Florida. She loved to travel, especially by cruise, and shared this passion with many friends and family over the years. She felt most at peace near the water, and one of her favorite getaways was taking her RV to Point Lookout State Park with her husband.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Gayle Donahue (Erich); granddaughter, Jane; grandson, Beck; husband, Peter Hanke; sister, Joanne Foy; sister-in-law, Mavis Padgett; and niece, Stacey Walsh. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Donald Morris, and sister, Donna Walsh.

There will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be held in Florida early next year.
