Kristin Simmons

Kristin Elaine Simmons, 47, of Newburg, Maryland, passed away surrounded by family on February 3, 2023 in LaPlata, Maryland.

Kristin was born on May 11, 1975 in Fairfax, VA to Randy and Rhonda Bowie.

She is survived by her husband David Simmons, daughter, Savannah Simmons, son, Logan Simmons, sisters Jaime Bowie (Billy) and Lynsi Weisman (Jake). She is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, nieces, a nephew, cousins and many friends. Kristin was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Douglas and Shelba Reese and Virginia Bowie.

Kristin attended elementary school at Potomac Heights Christian Academy and graduated from Lackey High School in 1993. After high school, Kristin started working in the medical field as an OB Tech and nursing assistant.  She had a kind heart and a gift working with infants and new mothers.

Kristin’s greatest joy was in watching her children shine.  As both a cheer mom and a lacrosse mom, she loved seeing her children perform on both the mat and the field.  She was Savannah and Logan’s biggest fan and took great pride in their achievements.

In her spare time, Kristin enjoyed spending time with friends and her dogs. She was also a big fan of the Washington Redskins and always expected a great season from them.  Prior to their deaths, Kristin loved being with her Grandma and Papaw and was excited to see what creative woodworking project Papaw was working on in his garage.  She leaves us with so many wonderful memories and will truly be missed by those that knew and loved her.
