Lionello Vignola

Our beloved Lionello Vignola 75, of La Plata, MD passed away of a brain aneurysm on March 2, 2023.

Lionello was born in Northern Italy where he lived until he was 12. He spent the remaining 63 years residing in the Washington, D.C. area.

At 18, he was hired by Cafritz Company where he worked for 37 years retiring as Chief Engineer.

Two weeks after retirement, On April 24, 2004, Lionello married, and spent the rest of his days proudly caring for his family. He was a devoted husband and father. He left a positive impact on everyone he met. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, model railroading, hiking, and he always had a soft spot for animals and mountains.

Surviving are his wife, Denise Leborne Vignola, two daughters Sabrina Rosetta Vignola and Sophia Elizabeth Vignola. He is preceded in death by his parents, Artura Vignola and Irene Vignola, and brother, Luciano Vignola.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pomfret, Maryland on Monday, April 24th 2023 at 9:30am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00am. All are welcome.
