Lorraine Griffin

Lorraine McIntyre Griffin, 91 of Marbury, MD passed away at her home on Thursday December 18, 2025.

Lorraine was born on January 24, 1934 in Washington, DC to the late James and Louise McIntrye. She is also predeceased by her husband, Charles Griffin and her daughter, Dawn Griffin and 2 grandsons.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Buckler; sons, Thomas Griffin (Renee), Charles Griffin (Elizabeth), John Griffin (Mary Jane), Robert Griffin (Karen) and Jeffery Griffin; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Lorraine spent her career as a Registered Nurse, caring for the sickest patients in the Intensive Care Unit. She was also a partner in Nightingales Catering, a local favorite for many years.

The family will receive friends on Monday December 29, 2025 from 2 PM 6 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD). Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday February 5, 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (201 St. Mary's Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646). Interment to follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery (11301 Crain Hwy Cheltenham, MD 20623).

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary’s County Special Olympics.
