Margie Regina Simpson

Margie R. Simpson 92 of LaPlata, Md passed away on Monday July 28, 2025 in LaPlata, MD.

Margie was born on March 9, 1933 in Nanjemoy, MD to the late William and Margaret Murphy. She is also predeceased by her husband, Joseph Simpson, Sr. and infant daughter Regina Joanne; brothers, John Murphy and Nedray Murphy; sisters, Margaret “Soda” Stickel and Hilda Cameron.

She is survived by her son, Joey Simpson, Jr.; sisters, Rose Radcliff and Ramona Millar. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie enjoyed doing puzzle books and crotchet. She also enjoyed watching soap operas especially The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

The family will receive friends on Sunday August 10, 2025 from 1 to 3 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 11, 2025 at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (@01 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646). Interment to follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd. Waldorf, MD 20601).
