Marie de Lozier Obituary

Marie L DeLozier, born April 1, 1924, passed peacefully, in the company of loving family members and caregivers at Fenwick Landing Assisted Living, on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024 after reaching the age of 100 years and 57 days.

She resided at her beloved farm Locust Grove Farm in Newburg for 60 years.

She is survived by her two children, Henri C. de Lozier, Jr. and Denise de Lozier Grote,  five grandchildren including Keith Grasso, Douglas Grasso and Jeffrey Grasso, Emilie‘ de Lozier, Esq. and Sarah de Lozier and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. de Lozier worked in tandem with her late husband, H. Carlyle de Lozier, in forming H Carlyle  de Lozier &, Company Real Estate. She held a Maryland Real Estate License for a number of years and managed real property well into her 80s.

Marie was active in various clubs and organizations, including the Charles County Garden Club, Society for the Restoration of Port Tobacco, the Historical Society of Charles County, a Charter Member of De La Brooke Foxhounds W and was an active member of Christ Church, Wayside, with her husband, who was a Vestryman.

Marie was an avid antique and doll collector and skilled decorator, who enjoyed trips to Williamsburg, restoring the family farm, and entertaining her many friends. She was a gracious hostess, who loved decorating for the Christmas holidays. She was a church organist and talented pianist. She loved all creatures, great and small, including her cats and dogs, but especially loved her home and her family.

She was compassionate, caring and loved by all who knew her, and always the epitome of a lady.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 8 at 1:00 at Christ Church, Wayside.

Interment to follow.

Repast in the Parish Hall immediately following.
