Mary W. Breeden

Mary Helen Wilcox Breeden of Newburg, MD, died on May 20, 2023 of breast cancer.  She was 57 years old.

Mary graduated from Moorestown High School in New Jersey and from Lynchburg College in Virginia.  While working for NACAS and living in Washington DC, she met Rick Breeden.  They married in 2000 and had two sons together.  Over the next 23 years, they lived in Maryland, Alaska, New Jersey, Texas and back to Maryland.  For the last ten years, she worked as a Case Manager for Calvert County Social Services in Maryland.

Mary loved her family fiercely and always put them first.  She was also a true and loyal friend. She had a zest for life and would always make the best of things. Mary could find the humor in any situation and then turn it into a hilarious story. She was a fun person to be around who was also adventurous, hardworking and kind.  Mary enjoyed taking walks around the island, going to the Cherry Blossom Festival and spending time with family and friends.  She meant so much to so many people, and she will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Rick Breeden, her sons Kevin and Jack Breeden, her step-daughters Ashley and Linda Breeden and their children Jonathan, Maggie and Melanie; her mother Natalie Wilcox, her brothers Bill, John and Ed Wilcox, and her sister Ann Koh. Mary was preceded in death by her father, William Wilcox.
