Michael Garner

Michael Anthony Garner, 52, of Accokeek, MD passed away on October 7, 2020 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

Michael was born in Washington, DC on December 9, 1967 to Christine Garner and the late Paul Garner.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Garner; daughters, Darcy Garner and Shannon Garner; and sister, Tracy Garner.

Michael was a retired Prince Georges County Police Officer.  He was a sports fanatic and loved all football and baseball and college basketball.   Michael brought much laughter and joy to his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 6PM to 8PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (201 St. Mary’s Ave., LaPlata, MD) and 8AM to 9:45AM on Friday, October 16, 2020.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10AM Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, please observe proper social distancing and wearing of a face covering. Interment will be held at a later date.  Those wishing to share condolences or memories with the family may visit www.arehartechols.com.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) in Michael’s name.
