Nancy Lee Gordon Clarke

Nancy Lee Gordon Clarke (79) of LaPlata, MD passed away on August 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born in Washington, DC on April 27, 1941 to the late John and Helen Gordon.  She is also predeceased by her brother, Ray Gordon.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Clarke, Sr. of 60 years; daughter, Kimberly Mackenzie; sons, James Clarke (Jennifer), John Clarke (Patricia) and Douglas Clarke, Jr. (Carla); grandchildren, Krista Clarke, Michael Clarke (Dawn), Victoria Clarke, Diana Blackwell (Austin), Ashley Logsdon, Michael Mackenzie, Rebecca Clarke, Charlie Hodge, Samantha Clarke, Brook Kelley; great-grandchildren, Christopher Clarke, Danielle Clarke, Terra Clarke, Sophia Mead, Evan Mead, Baylee Mead; sister, Teresa Brunson (Billy); brother-in-law, Patrick Clarke (Delores); sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Gordon; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nancy loved spending time with her family, laughing and singing with her grandchildren.  She loved with her whole heart.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, oil painting, and playing on her Ipad.  She was an avid crocheter, donating many blankets to the Linus Project.  Nancy was also a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Charlotte Hall, MD and the American Legion, Auxiliary Unit 82.

The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 1PM to 5PM at her home (7906 Wicker Lane, LaPlata, MD 20646).  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nancy’s memory made to The Linus Project (Attn: Karen Huffman, Coordinator, 10567 Deacon Rd., White Plains, MD 20695).  Online condolences to the family may be shared at arehartechols.com.
