November 7, 1935 – July 17, 2024

Norma Graves Rollins 88, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away on July 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the daughter of Lawrence Walter and Anita Arabelle Higgs Graves.  Norma was the loving wife of James “Jimmy” David Rollins whom she married in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel Grove, MD on August 29, 1953 and who preceded her in death on September 7, 2011.  She is survived by her children; Randy Rollins (April) of Mechanicsville, MD, Sharon Abell (John) of Clements, MD and Glenn Rollins (Marty) of Bel Alton, MD.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; David Rollins (Carrie), Clarke Rollins, Terri Arcadipane (John), Samantha Rollins, Brian Rollins (Sam) and Meghann Cefaratti (Mike) as well as 10 great grandchildren and one great grandchild due in August.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Roger Graves, Walter Graves, Marion Blair and Doris Moeller.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and was a homemaker.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who treasured time spent with her family.  Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and flowers, and feeding and watching the birds.  She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for many years where she served as the church organist before transferring her membership to LaPlata Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at LaPlata United Methodist Church in LaPlata, MD with Rev. Dr. Susan Boehl officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Dentsville, MD.  Pallbearers will be David Rollins, Clarke Rollins, Brian Rollins, Brennan Rollins, John Arcadipane and Robert Moeller.  Contributions in memory of Norma G. Rollins can be made to LaPlata United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 2824, LaPlata, MD 20646.  Arrangements provided by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home PA.
