Orville W. Davis, Jr.

Orville “OW” W. Davis, Jr. 81, of La Plata, MD, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

OW was born on June 29, 1940, in Baltimore, MD to the late Alberta (Claus) Davis and Orville Davis, Sr.  He graduated from La Plata High School in 1958 and the University of Maryland, College Park in 1979.  He worked at the Times Crescent Newspaper and Newsprinters International, Inc.  In retirement, he enjoyed substitute teaching. 

OW was a lifelong member of La Plata United Methodist Church.  In his spare time, he enjoyed attending his eight grandkids youth sporting events and dance and musical recitals.  

He is survived by his four children, Laurie (Drew) Taylor, Christa (Mike) Jones, Michael (Katie) Davis, and Stephen Lehman-Davis, and his eight grandchildren, Hanson, Dillan, Lexi, Spencer, Liam, Rowan, Nola, and Declan. 

The family will receive family and friends on Monday, September 27, 2021, beginning at 10:30 am followed by his Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm.  All will take place at the La Plata United Methodist Church (3 Port Tobacco Road, La Plata, MD 20646).  Interment to follow at Mount Rest Cemetery in La Plata.
