Otho Jackson Wise

Otho Jackson Wise, 84, of Newburg, MD passed away at his home on January 5, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.

Otho was born in Washington, DC on July 5, 1934 to the late Samuel O. Wise and Susan A. Wise.  He is also preceded in death by his sons, Samuel Wise and Michael Wise; brother, James Wise; and sister, Mary Wise.  Otho is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Wise; his son, Martin Osakowicz (Donna); his daughters, Susan Wise, Lisa McCullagh (Kenneth); his daughter-in-law, Sandra Wise; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Otho was a plumber by trade.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, crabbing, boating and gardening.  His true passion was to work with his hands building things.  He was happiest spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends on January 9, 2019 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA (211 St. Mary’s Ave., LaPlata, MD); where a Funeral Service will also be held on January 10, 2019 at 10AM; Interment to follow at Christ Church-Wayside Cemetery (13050 Rock Point Rd., Newburg, MD).  Memorial donations may be made in Otho’s memory to American Heart Association (www.donatenow.heart.org).  We invite you to share condolences to the family in our Guestbook.
