Richard Rogan

Richard A. Rogan (Rich) 63 of LaPlata, MD passed away on Tuesday February 25, 2025 in LaPlata, MD.

Rich was born in Scranton, PA on November 22, 1961 to the late James Rogan and Helene Munley Rogan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelly Rogan; children, Joe Pecosh, Nick Pecosh (Erinn James), Melissa Haskin (David) and Katelyn Pecosh; brother Jimmy Rogan; sister, Lauren Whipple (Jim); grandchildren, Jaxson Haskin, Harper Haskin, Violet Viscarra and Theo Viscarra.

Rich owned and operated Gas stations in Waldorf, Md from 1993 until 2006 when he left to do Automobile Warranty Inspections. He had a passion for working on cars, going to car shows and his 1969 Chevelle that he had spent a good 15 years building with the help from his friends, son and grandson. Rich always looked forward to saturday breakfast with “the guys” followed by hanging at the shop working on cars. He enjoyed camping trips with his wife. He was a simple man who would do anything for anyone, whether it was fixing the neighbors car or plowing their driveway he was always ready and willing to help.

Rich was a family man with a heart of gold, his happiest times were spent with the love of his life, kids and grandkids. He was always the loud Grandfather cheering at his grandchildren’s hockey and soccer games.

The family will receive friends on Friday March 21, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home 211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPLata, MD 20646). Everyone knows how much Rich loved cars and car shows, he always had a car t shirt on. His family has requested that if you have a car T shirt to please wear it. His interment will be private.
