Beloved Brother, Uncle and Father Richard Anthony Swann 57 of Indian Head, MD formally of Newburg, MD passed away on Sunday July 17, 2022 after battling cancer. Born March 12, 1965 in LaPlata, MD.
Richard was a master carpenter. Ricky was passionate in his carpentry work and helped to train others in the trade. He truly loved what he did for a living. He enjoyed fixing up his home especially his garden and flowers. His hobby was making things in his garage and listening to country music. Ricky’s favorite way to spend his time was being surrounded by his family and friends.
Ricky is survived by his sisters, Theresa Simpson (Robbie), Diane Hardesty (Robert), Sharon Macaranas (Glenn) and Sandra Ferguson (Francis); daughter, Elizabeth Bell (Daniel); nephews, Robbie Hardesty, Eddie Hardesty, Brandon Simpson and Kevin Ferguson; nieces, Lisa Vieira, Karen Swann, Paula Wood and Kelcie Simpson. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
Ricky is predeceased by his parents Wilson and Dorothy Swann; brothers Edward Swann and Robert Swann.
The family will receive friends on Thursday July 28, 2022 from 9:30 AM until Mass time at 11 AM at the Holy Ghost Church (15848 Rock Point Rd. Newburg, MD 20664). Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake (90 Ritchie Highway Pasadena, MD 21122).
Pallbearers will be Eddie Hardesty, Robbie Hardesty, Kevin Ferguson, Brandon Simpson, Randy Meyers and David Mace.
