Obituary for Ritaann Marie Mitchell

Ritaann “Rita” Marie Mitchell, age 71 of Waldorf, MD passed on Monday, December 23, 2024, peacefully at her home. Rita was Born on October 1, 1953, in Catasauqua, PA to the late William and Anna Busolits. 

She is survived by her son, Jason Mitchell and his wife Angela, and their three children, Austin, Ashleigh, and Jason II. She is also survived by her daughter Angela L. Mitchell, Tommy Skordas, and their two children, Christopher and Olivia.

Other members of the family include brothers, Bill Busolits and Stephen Busolits, sisters Maryann Shelton and Barbara Gower, as well as her niece Amanda Shelton.

After graduating nursing school, Rita joined the Air Force shortly thereafter. Rita devoted her life to 28 years of federal civil service, retiring from the Pediatric Clinic at Andrews Air Force Base on November 30, 2017. She also worked for over 20 years as a full-time registered nurse at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital, where she was currently employed. Throughout her nursing career, she cherished the friends and colleagues she met along the way.  

In her seldom free time, Rita loved to go shopping with her family, enjoy vacations with her grandchildren, and home projects with her grandson.

Rest in peace, dear Rita. “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”.
