Roy McKinley Tipton, 95, of Fort Washington, MD died February 25, 2025 at his home.
Born on September 11, 1929 in Washington, D.C. to the late Roy M. Tipton Sr. and Mildred Louise (Floyd) Tipton, Roy is also preceded in death by his sons, Tim and Steve and his wife Patsy . He is survived by his two sons, Gene and Neal, and a daughter, Cheryl, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Roy was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandad and great-grandad and friend, who was a blessing to all he encountered. He served in the US Navy and was a State Farm agent until 90.
He enjoyed football. He and Patsy enjoyed visiting the Shenandoah Valley mountains and socializing with family and friends. His kind, wise spirit and smile will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 10AM to 12PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave., LaPlata, MD); where a Memorial Service will also be held at 12 Noon. Interment will be held at a later, to be determined date.
