Shirley Ann Summers

Shirley Ann Summers, 86, of Nanjemoy, MD passed away on April 23, 2021 at the University of Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, MD.

Born in Washington, DC on April 20, 1935 to the late Robert and Foncie Heffron, Shirley is also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Heffron and Douglas Heffron; sisters, Catherine Penn, Pauline Lunsford and Nancy Vester.  Shirley is survived by her husband, David H. Summers, Sr.; sons, David Summers and Gary Summers; daughters, Sheryl Boblits and Debbie Titus; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Shirley worked for the Charles County Board of Education and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Nanjemoy Fire Dept.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA (211 St. Mary’s Ave., LaPlata, MD).  Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ironsides Rescue Squad.
