Thomas B. Norris

Thomas “Bert” Norris, 93, of Charlotte Hall, Maryland passed away on February 21, 2023 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home surrounded by family and friends.  Bert was born in Washington, D.C. on October 28, 1929 to the late Helen and Eugene Norris of Washington D.C.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife Angeline Marie, brother Lamotte Norris, and son Nicholas C. Finamore.

Bert married Angeline “Angie” Marie Tucci in 1962.  Together they raised their family Nicholas Finamore (Mary Esther), Charles Finamore (Pam), Mary Anderson (Allen), Patricia McClure (Tony), Barbara Thompson (Kevin).    He became known as Pop to 11 Grandchildren Charles Finamore (Val), Angela Dentz (Edward),  Nicholas Finamore (Chelsea), Lindsey Finamore, Megan Cortez (Marco),  Theresa Deakins (Daniel), Nicole Anderson, Katelyn Snell (Zach),  David Thompson (Alicia), Emily Thompson, Christopher Thompson, and  12 great-grandchildren Brody Finamore, Sophia, Eddie, and Nicholas Dentz;  Paul and Reese Finamore; Charlie Cortez; Olivia and Giuliana Deakins;  Kaia and Talia Snell and Ryder Thompson.

Bert proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a U.S. Navy Fireman Apprentice (FN) and sailed around the world on the USS Charles P. Cecil (DD-835) from 1947-1951.  After his service to the Navy, he was employed by the Department of Army at Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia for 30 years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646)
