Thomas Oliver, 86 of Cobb Island, MD passed away on February 5, 2024 in LaPlata, MD.
Thomas was born on October 15, 1937 on Cobb Island, MD Point of Chigger City to the late James and Mabel Oliver. He is also predeceased by his sibling’s; Carol Ann Oliver, Joseph Cecil Oliver, Ruth Oliver Hayden, Alma Oliver Widmayer, Doris Oliver Prange, Merle Oliver, Donald Oliver, Hazel Oliver Crismond and Ambrose Oliver.
Thomas also known as Cowboy was a waterman in his early years and volunteered for a short time with the Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department. During 25 years of service for the Charles County Board of Education he served at the Thomas Stone Annex as General Maintenance worker in 1973, as a Painter 1 from 1974 to 1981; at the Maintenance Shop as a Painter 1 from 1981 to 1983; and as a Painter II from 1984 to 1998.
Thomas loved to play guitar and country music and coffee, he was known as a professional coffee drinker. Besides coffee he loved bicycling and trips to Ocean City. He would give you the shirt off his back and help you anyway that he could. He had a strong love for his family and his home place on Cobb Island. He lived his last year’s niece Connie Bowling and her husband James and their children. His best friend was his dog Capri till the end the misses him dearly.
