Truvella Ann was born on May 2nd 1952 to Elaine (Baby Lane) Proctor and Kirvey M. Proctor in Washington, DC. She lived the early part of her life in the S.E. section of DC in Valley Green and 10th Place where she attended Hine Junior High School and Balou High School. She met her first husband, Stewart H. Prince at the age of 15 and spent the next ten years with him and had two beautiful children, Melissa Luci Prince Smith and Stewart H. Prince, Jr. She left DC at the age of 25 and made Southern Maryland her home where she worked for Freedom Landing. In 1991 she met the love of her life, Stevie Randolph Carroll whom she married and they made LaPlata their home. Shortly after, Truvella started her own company with her sister, Community Outreach & Support Services. She also devoted her time to run Project Home where she had various clients, such as Patricia Scarlett. Truvella is the oldest of three children. She is preceded in death by her sister, Angela James and brother, Rodney Proctor. Truvella is survived by her brother-in-law and best friend, Gary Carroll; children, Melissa L. Prince Smith and Stewart H. Prince, Jr.; son-in-law, LaShawn N. Smith; grandchildren, Truvella T. Robinson, Quinten S. Prince, Tyreik C. Prince, Nyah M. Smith; great-grandchildren, Sa’Miah M. Briscoe; nephew, Sherman James; niece, Alexis Proctor; great-niece, Chasity James; and a host of friends, family and acquaintances.
