Vic Bryant, Sr. Obituary

Vic ‘ Bobby’ Bryant Sr.

June 19, 1946- October 2, 2022

Vic passed away peacefully as a result of Congestive Heart Failure. He was 76 years old. Vic was born at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC on June 19, 1946. He was one of two children of Robert Meade Bryant and Evelyn Mae Bryant (Tinnell). Sandra Carreras (Bryant) was his only sibling and they were born just 11 months apart. They had an amazing bond that lasted a lifetime.

Vic grew up in Washington, DC and attended Congress Heights Elementary School. At the age of 9 he and the family moved to Suitland, MD where he attended Suitland Junior High School. It is there where he started his friendship with Russell Claar, Dennis Trudo, and Fred Carey. They were known as “The Rat Pack” and they remained friends throughout his life. Turning 16 meant the world to Vic, it was when his love for driving and cars began. The Rat Pack ran around town and went to drive-in movies and really enjoyed life. He graduated from Suitland High School in 1965. He then joined the U.S. Air Force where he was proud to serve his country. He was a real Patriot through and through.

Vic went to work for Riss Paper Company as a salesman and continued on to be a successful car salesman at multiple dealerships throughout MD and VA. He had a real passion for cars and knew everything about them. He was briefly married to Lou East and had his first born son Vic Bryant Jr. Eventually he left working in sales and began to work for the U.S. Postal Service where he started as a letter carrier and worked his way up to a management position at Post Office in Manassas, VA. He married Lisa Freeman (Stack) and had (3) sons, Kyle Robert Bryant, Matthew Stephen Bryant, and Nicholas Andrew Bryant.  He retired on disability from the Post Office in 1991 due to irreversible damage to his back and kidneys.

Vic and Lisa divorced after many years of marriage and he moved just down the road to Warrenton, VA where he had resided for nearly 20 years. He was always very involved with his sons and raised them to be great men. He was extremely proud to be a father and loved his sons with all of his being. He had a real love for animals and had several dogs in his life. He would dog sit often for all of his sons’ dogs and enjoyed every minute of it. He loved his family whole heartedly and would never miss an opportunity to be with them. He will always be known as “Uncle Vic”, “Big Vic”, or “Pop”. He joined Living Faith Church in Manassas, VA and his relationship for our Lord and Savior only became stronger. He attended church 1-2 times a week and it was very important to him. He loved Washington Redskins Football, Nascar Racing, and Barrett Jackson Auto Auctions. His eyes lit up when he would see a restored classic or custom car. People gravitated to him, he treated everyone with respect and worried about everyone’s well being and put his own self- interests last. He would constantly give and never want anything in return. He was a genuine, kind, caring and loving human being that will be greatly missed.
