William E. Wood son the late Harry F. Wood and Irene B. Wood passed away at his home surrounded by family on August 13, 2025. He was born in Washington DC. He lived his entire life in La Plata Maryland graduating from La Plata High School. There he met his beautiful bride of 52 years Carole A. (Clark) Wood. She passed away in 2012. Together they had 4 daughters, Karen Fenner (Thomas), Tammy Wood, Patty Brien (Mark) and Lisa Diane Dye (Jon). He has 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren with a new one on the way. He worked as a carpenter, building homes and then worked and retired from the government printing office. He was drafted into the Army National Guard severing for 2 years. He was a devout member of the Mason’s (Freemasons). He enjoyed golf, trains, working outside in his yard, Maryland College Basketball, Washington Redskins football and was a lifelong Democrat loving and always supporting his county. He was the proudest of his family and the many friends he gathered throughout his 86 years of life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Humane Society of Charles County (humanesocietycc.org) or ASPCA (aspca.org).
